I smoked heavily from 15 to 30, giving up 16 years ago. Never looked back (unless paralytically drunk, when for some reason I "decide" it's a good idea to smoke and then feel awful for days).
I really wish I'd never started.

I smoked for a few years, gave up 10 years ago according to Faceache, with the occasional one or two cig relapse when drunk - maybe 4 or 5 incidents in the decade. Lately it just makes me feel immediately and horrifically nauseous, and healrds the abrupt end of the evening.

I smoked from 15/16 to 38. Amounts were variable. Worst was in the mid-90s when I worked in Belfast for 3 years and smoked a solid 20/day (more on Fridays and Saturdays). Followed by cutting right back for about 8 years, with relapses only on exercise/detachment, thanks to the influence of a Good Woman. Stopped smoking the day I was demobbed and never looked back. Not once.
I shudder to think about the money spent and the irreversible damage done.

Meant to say that was 13 years ago. 13 years free. Feels good!

Never smoked, Dad smoked for a while when we were younger (he gave up when I was born, but started again when my little sister was born LOL), and I think that must have put me off. He's been stopped for probably 35+ years and is so pleased he stopped when he did.
Also seeing my grandad with emphysema probably had an impact, he smoked unfiltered roll ups from about 12 years old.

Never smoked, tried a few as a kid, think I even wanted to so I was 'cool' like the other kids, just didn;t like it so didn;t. Dabbled a tiny bit with weed, but still not very much. I've probably had more joints than actual cigarettes, and less than about 12-15 of either.
My vice of choice was alcohol, more or less gave that up a decade ago when starting to get serious with this endurance training lark.
Conclusion: lungs good, kidneys less so....

Do you reckon Hutton and Shenfield LTC will expect me to carry my own racket bag from the car to the clubhouse tonight, or do we think they will provide me with a liveried porter?

Never smoked anything - my mother was a heavy smoker which probably put me off.
My liver is another country.
