Ticking the red cross on the right of a post brings up this rather pleasing picture.

Indeed. Tempting though it is, I have gone for the kittens. Comrade S should do the same.

Isn't that pretty much a declaration of war in NATO?

Not really Rich, if the Greek PM chooses to visit what is in effect a war zone, he'll be doing it at his own risk. Doesn't stop him being very upset about it of course.

There are some misconceptions about Article 5. It doesn't oblige the others to go to war in defence of a member under attack, it obliges each of them to "assist" with "such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force".

Also, it refers to an attack on "forces, vessels, or aircraft" ... not politicians.

Plenty of wriggle room there, especially for the likes of Hungary and other Putin worshippers.

Well yeah otherwise we could just install one politician in each town in Ukraine and they'd have to stop. Nice idea but hard to see it sticking.

There's a few politicians I could nominate for that.

N.B. apologies to all serious followers. I know that I didn't so much feed the troll there as tempt him out of his cave. I'll try to cease and desist.

Thanks for the NATO comments.

Hopefully the attack will piss them off and get them sending F16's and leopards to help.

Well, Macron gets it, belatedly, but will his words be matched by actions and will the others step up or back away?

It pains me to say it but the fight is coming and the longer we put it off the more awful it will be. Russia is already at war with us and is on a war footing. And Putin's constant nuclear willy waving shows that he's shit scared of a full-on brawl with Nato. We're in the 1930s again.

Another term for the willy waving is reflexive control, as explained here:
