Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have to report +1lb this week :-(. I’m putting it down to the Nepalese curry we went for last night. I had a tikka mixed grill, which is basically different sorts of meat with a bit of onion and pepper, served with a naan. They accidentally brought me a peshwari rather plain, but I only ate half of it. And drank a mango lassi, and ate a piece of cake at the event we went to later. I was absolutely stuffed!

I was so cock a hoop at being back on my medication, I decided I could afford to push the boat out, and we only go to this place a maximum of once a month.

Anyhow, although the impact on my BG was much less than it would have been, it was still noticeable. So it’s back on the straight and narrow lower carb way today, although having said that I am meeting Mr in town for lunch before going to the cinema, and finding a low carb option will be difficult.

Never mind, I will low carb when I can, which is most of the time, and do my best not to go wild the rest of the time.

Been to the gym this morning, and see from my notebook it’s over a week since I’ve been. Maybe that’s why I’m feeling my triceps already!

Lip Gloss - never mind, at least you're maintaining.

RevB - I expect a lot of salt etc plus the carbs will all retain a bit of fluid, you should drop back in a day or so. And you did say you were stuffed, so + one pound isn't so bad.

After a couple of very unfocused weeks I was all set to jump on the scales this morning and see how things were - but they didn't come on! And I was in too much of a hurry to faff around with changing batteries, so it'll have to wait till tomorrow now.

RevBG, one pound is neither here nor there in the scheme of things and could well just be due to a larger meal yesterday. Your determination is impressive and will carry you through.

RevB mentioned them on a previous page but driving home today I was listening to the "In Our Time" podcast, which this week was all about hormones. Really interesting and amongst other things, it touched on how hormones affect our eating habits and appetite, including how the latest slimming pills suppress appetite and why we sometimes eat too much before we feel full. I'm sorry to say I can't give you any definitive info - too much information to retain - but it was an interesting listen nonetheless.

Thanks for that Mel I’ll have a look for it.

Rev I always weigh heavier after a takeout/restaurant meal as I think they use extra salt, esp chinese/indian. As we’ve said before life would be dull without treats and enjoying a meal with loved ones. You’re so in the zone it will be gone in no time.

Maintaining is also ok LG, sometimes weight is all too stubborn to leave us, unlike the lbs that love to join our body party.

Longer run today and was rubbish at fuelling. But having a Japanese pork tonkatsu tonight (homemade) which will be lovely.

Tonkatsu was yummy…. I can’t ever give up mayo, UFP or not, this is Japanese mayo which is another level.

geordiegirl when I was doing keto a few years ago I made my own mayo. Just an egg, extra virgin olive oil and a bit of seasoning, whip it up with a stick blender and it was done. Would keep in the fridge for a week, although it seldom lasted that long.

geordiegirl - that looks really tasty.

We all have our various likes and dislikes. I never bother with mayonnaise, don't even have it in the house, not because it's UPF, I just don't use it. I have ketchup, which I probably have once a week

I always say I’ll make my own Rev but never get round to it. One of these days I will and I expect won’t ever go back. Good to know it will last a week I always thought it would be just the day or two.

I am just a mayo fiend I don’t do any other sauces so it’s my guilty pleasure.
