This trip’s going well. Hotel car park, flat tyre, space saver spare, no mobile fittings available until Monday, need at least Coniston and back tomorrow. 😕 waiting for rac, will see what they can do

I'm guessing, Badger, the worst of that was discovered after I saw you this afternoon? I need to be back in Coniston by 6am tomorrow, having travelled from near Kendal. Drop me an fmail if I can be of any help at the front end of the day. |

Thanks NE. I must have bagged Whoap as over 500 metres. Please add me to the completers. On the second round I'm on 48. And there are some real treasures to revisit, like St Sunday Crag. But also some unremarkable ones, like Mungrisedale Common

Had a return trip Leicester to Glenridding today: After bumping his car Son had to replan his trip to complete the quality mountain days that are a prerequisite of his Mountain Leader training course at the end of the month. Instead of a camp site and driving to and from daily hikes this week, I dropped him off in Glenridding and will pick him up from Coniston on Wednesday evening and he'll hike and wild camp between the two.

Thanks folks, first chance I’ve had to check back. RAC put the space saver spare on to get me through the race (the car kit doesn’t give me enough torque to get the nuts off!) and sorted me out with a fitter in Ulveston who was happy to fit a new tyre working around the race timing. Not the only bit of business he’d got from LT runners! Cost a bit more but kept the whole weekend on track and JM and I are both safely back home in time for work tomorrow. Thanks also CumbriAndy for all your volunteering this weekend - hugely appreciated - and good getting to chat to you! |

It was very green up in the Lakes yesterday, one of those days when there is little haze and everything looked lovely. It was also very warm, but that's another story! I don't think I have to say what this view is ....... |
