Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sweetie I've read that they're not keen on having their roots disturbed so they grow best if they're sown where they're going to grow. So maybe just put them straight into a big pot now?

No blackfly on my leaves. Molluscs are my only problem so far.

Oh dear! Just been out for a half term tour of the garden and found my forgotten sunflowers in teeny pots sitting in a trug full of water :-(. Repotted them into any pots I could find and propped them against a wall. Don't think I'll be winning any prizes!!

Blackfly - make up some homemade spray.

Run a bowl of water and fairy liquid (other washing up liquids are available)

Important : if you've used hot water ALLOW IT TO COOL !!!

Spray on black fly. The don't like the soap - the plant doesn't mind as long as you don't then water it with soapy water you should be fine :-)

Mine are still in the greenhouse, next to the open door. The little ones are ready for potting on now too. I still don't know where to put them outside, perhaps they'll have to go into big pots.
