Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I re-potted the 2 bigger ones this afternoon. They're still in the greenhouse so they won't get battered with the forecast heavy rain tonight.

The ones I planted in seed compost germinated and then sort of stopped - they're tiny, a very leggy few inches. The ones I planted in a big pot are much better (lesson learned!). One's nearly a metre, one a little less but has had its stem attacked by a snail or slug.

There's also one growing directly in the ground which I think must be self-down from last year.

*self-sown! And the compost in the big pots was Miracle-Gro multipurpose.

I planted out the tiny ones anyway, just to see whether they grow properly or not, but they've really not had a great start in life.

The tall one looks fab SK.
I still haven't made up my mind where to plant mine out so that they will be safe from strong winds / deer/ etc. so I just keep potting them on into bigger and bigger pots so I can keep them more sheltered by the house.
Are they OK to grow all summer in pots?
Also, anyone else getting problems with blackfly on the leaves?!
