What was actually in that telegraph article linked to the sister/sister marriage? I’m not a subscriber. What’s the story around that one?

Oh I had a free trial on Telegraph - although now they seem to have locked it down more tightly, so you only get the free trial after you give them your credit card details. Basically it's Charles Moore's unrelated article on how Cameron allowing gay marriage was destroying the "most important social structure". She was commenting on it going one step further conflating two issues - one that gay marriage doesn't include sex (???) and the second that if there's no sex in marriage, then what's to stop a sister marrying her sister (separately there are laws to prohibit that), neither of which Moore actually talked about. |

Charlotte Higgins - Guardian journo (was it Stander who wouldn't even read a link if it was posted from the Guardian?) "The Spectator, who know whereof they speak, has just informed me that ND will ‘oversee a more punchy attitude to the culture war aspect of her brief’. Amazing that this is basically seen as her official role." So there you have it Nadine Dorries - minister for culture war. |

Ben Wallace Defence Secretary - "“I think Nadine Dorries is actually a bestselling author… She’s sold thousands and thousands of books… she produces culture that people buy and actually want to see rather than some of the more crackpot schemes we’ve seen being funded in the past by taxpayers’ money.” So that's us lefties told. |

Jacob Rees-Mogg says Conservative MPs don’t need to wear facemasks in the Commons chamber because they regularly attend parliament and meet other MPs and says if opposition MPs also "worked a bit harder… they might not need to wear face coverings either." And it's so hard to not call them thick. I don't think conservatives per se, or conservative voters are thick. But the current lot in power are very, very stupid. |

I have often wondered what the opposition during Covid would have been like if Corbyn was still Labour Leader. We know it was weak during Brexit, probably because Corbyn supported Brexit in some form and also because there were two camps in Labour. We also know Corbyn's brother is a Covid denier and JRM seems to be in that camp with these comments. |
