Big_G that's part of why I don't think he was a good pick though on paper. Third GT of the year with two leaders on the team. Also quite a few decent climbers here for other teams. The plan was for him to take it easy on certain stages to save legs. That's obviously changed but if he cracks eventually due to it, I won't be surprised. Currently though, he says he has better legs than the Tour. Agree with Gobi that Kuss will be left if he drops early (assuming the other two are fine of course). A late drop might be tempting to help given Vingegaard needs to do a big attack anyway, a few secs won't hurt. Today should suit Kuss though. |

I did the spreadsheet for all the riders. Soler is joint leader at the moment but only 2.7% of velogamers chose him in their team. 8.7% chose Theuns. |

Shows Thuens was a good pick but it's about making the money elsewhere. TBH given my team score currently, I think with Dunbar and De Plus still here I'd be challenging. |

I’ll try and do the same again at the end of the race and compare. Yeah, you were unlucky with those 2. There is a lot of luck involved, that’s for sure, but it brings an added dimension whilst watching. Only 0.6% chose Soupe…. I confess I’d never heard of him before.

Anyone been bothering with the Tour of Britain? DOesn't look like the best racing ever and it doesnt compare with the Vuelta, obvs, but even so it's a bit of a shop window for someof the brits isn't it? Anyway, the route comes within a couple of miles of me this afternoon so I'm off out on my bike to try to catch it twice (it loops out to Burnham and I can cut the corner) so hopefully I'll get to see Pidders and the boys come hurtling past so quick I can't recognise any of them! |

I've not managed to catch any Nellers but I have the live coverage taped so will look out for you and some familiar roads later. I'm in Hadleigh so can't get myself anywhere useful during my lunch break.

I've been keeping up with it, hopefully it all gets a bit more active at the weekend. First two days were a) where I used to live and b) where I now live so I had a bit more interest than the stages inherently would have provided.

Cheg: I’m planning to be at Hullbridge when they go through, then I’m going to head up the The Ship just the other side of Hanningfield Reservoir where they have somehow decided it’s a categorised climb! I mean, I find it a bit of a grind but I’m an overweight 53 year old rower on a bike. I doubt these guys would notice the hill if there weren’t points in offer at the top! Larkim: the route seems odd as it’s all been pretty flat and sprinter-y so far. Van Aert took 3 seconds yesterday with a very late attack and it’s put him in the lead with (checks notes) 3 seconds in almost everyone else in the field! It’s a bizarre race from that point of view. Hopefully that 3 second lead means other teams will have a go. |

I'm an overweight 53 year old rower on a bike, there must be a t-shirt for that.

I'm a 53 year old overweight rower not on a bike. Chain snapped on the way out of Rayleigh so all the plans for the day are in the bin.
