My friends have bought a campervan!!!! They have the tent box on the top but obviously much better having the van to the car for weekends away, can’t wait to fit in a weekend/night away with them!

It's great when your friends get something that you can use alongside.

An unusual little free park-up last night on the harbour wall at Amlwch (Anglesey)

You can just see our van on the left hand side.

Unfortunately, the tide came in in the middle of the night and had gone out again by the time we woke up.

Looks very nice Sarah.

So thankfully, the first trip in the new van was uneventful. Collected on Saturday morning. This went well, with the most relaxed dealer in the world (one man business) - "oh, just send the £25k balance when you get a chance. Here's the keys." lol He did a great handover with us though, and had a massive bunch of flowers in the van.

Came home and just threw everything in the garage area to sort out when we arrived at the campsite. I am sure we will be moving things to difference cupboards for some time yet!

Drove 1.5 hours down to Riverview campsite in monifieth. Thought that would be a nice distance away. Very nice campsite by the beach. Very well kept, loads of planting and very clean.

Just spent the time in the van really with a few wee walks. Managed to try out most things, such as gas oven.

Our dog wouldn't settle at night though. Think it will take a little perseverance to get him used to the new van. In the transporter, there was only really room to let him in with us so that's what we did. I think he was looking for that through the night in the new van.

Van is great to drive and very comfortable to live in.

Sounds a very positive trip 😄 hope the dog soon settles

We were very much the same due to time etc and just threw everything in the van for this trip. We have just been sat here discussing things to move/change/sort etc. it's been a good learning curve even though we have had VW's before.

Also sat here working on plans for next year's big trips. So many places to go and see

Currently it's some of these

Solvinia/Croatia etc
France/Spain
NL (for world superbikes)/Germany
Wales
NC500

Need to dwindle down but think France/Spain will definitely be this time next year

Sounds good. I'm very keen to take ours to France.
