I can relate to that article but my problem is Rheumatoid Arthritis and started way before Covid was even heard about. RA is an autoimmune disease and is way more than just a few "achy joints" which is most people's perception of it and I must admit mine too until I was diagnosed! Sadly I also have Osteoarthritis, which is a whole new ballgame! |

Back out again. 6x2min/1min walk. That was quite tough. Average 10.19min mile.

Sorry steve45 ,just thinking my post ^^ sounded a bit .... can't think of the word ..... dismissive maybe? Just feeling a bit down today. Everyone's struggles are real, whatever the cause. |

Not dismissive DorisQuine! We can't always refer back on the threads. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a tough thing to live with and inevitably will meddle with your head space. You're doing fabulously to be able to exercise with that.

Wonderful picture @DoricQuine ! Is that Aberdeen beach? I think I can make out the Beach Ballroom in the background. I'm making a return to continuous running after run-walk didn't work out so well for me at the Valencia marathon a couple of weeks ago. All my run-walk training didn't seem to count for much on the day and it was a massive struggle to get round. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the atmosphere and crossed the finish line with a huge smile on my face. Now the marathon is out of the way it's such a relief just to go out and do whatever I feel like doing - a 5k jog, some hard intervals, gentle yoga at home, whatever - I just want to ENJOY physical movement with no other objective. I'm sure plenty of runners, walkers, and jeffers can get on board with that! |

Glad that running is perfectly ok for you phynona. IF I could run continuously I would although I have found that run walking in itself provides an overall more enjoyable experience on some levels. Won't be running continuously anytime soon judging by my efforts and it's a run walking 2025 ahead. It was in 2020 that I hit the running wall!
