Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

George has a typical terrier's strong prey drive and if he's off the lead, there's little I can do to attract his attention if he's picked up the scent of something.
Today he got extremely cross with a cat which was sitting on the other side of the road as we walked past. Despite my attempts to persuade him that it wasn't good behaviour, he barked and barked and barked until the cat was out of sight and was clearly very annoyed that the cat wasn't running away in a state of terror.
He tore off after a rabbit a bit later on the bridleway and of course the bunny shot into the hedge. George ran right past where the rabbit had disappeared for several metres, then stopped and rushed around in confusion because he couldn't see or smell it. For one so intelligent, he can be pretty dim sometimes. ;)
I was impressed by his behaviour for the remainder of the walk though. We walked (with him on the lead, of course) through 2 fields full of sheep and lambs and 2 occupied by cows and their calves and he didn't bat an eyelid. At least he has the sense to behave in that situation.

Jess had a lovely time at the coast today. We opted for Flamborough Head and she loved climbing the rocks and paddling.

An odd occurence today.

At 6.30am I put Jet's food down on the floor. As usual he ran into his crate and lay down looking at his bowl, waiting for permission to eat. I said "Off you go" and walked out of his room. A few minutes later Mr put his lead on and took him out for a walk, and when he returned after 40 minutes we had the following conversation,
"Did you feed Jet?"
"Yes"
"What time?"
"6.30, why?"
"He hasn't eaten it"

I took Jet back into his room, told him again that he could eat his food and he refused.

I repeated this three times and offered some from my hand before he started eating normally.

Jet is a spaniel. He has refused food before.

1. Did he think he didn't have permission to eat?
2. Is his food contaminated (dried food stored in a covered plastic bin in the garage)?
3. Is he ill?
4. ?

Ideas please.
