I wonder if there are no specific guidelines because a) there aren’t THAT many dogs and b) it’s specific to each situation - if you have a 5 acre fenced garden and a chihuahua you might not need to walk it at all. If you have a 2nd floor flat and a Labrador you probably need to take it out several times a day.

It would be nice for them to make it clear - even the dogs trust and rspca websites do not have any further info.
