I did thanks @homer. Can't beat getting wet feet and covered in mud after 500m.

I saw someone in a Fetch shirt. Was that you?

Yep, the Fetch shirt was the most festive-coloured running top I could find :-)

It was very wet up that first slope! Kinda fun splashing through the mud but my feet didn't like it later

Delamere did a cracking job coping with the numbers, they used the different location to create a funnel which was probably 150m long so it looks like they managed to keep the finish line clear through the busiest minutes. Course was very crowded though for the first mile or so.

I am in Southampton for new year and will seek out a double. Looking at the Xmas parkruns it's interesting that Southampton got almost 800 more runners than nearby Netley Abbey. I personally would seek out the smaller one if it's nearby.

386 for Falkirk, second highest ever. Not bad for an 8 year+ event. Two of the three older Scottish parkruns set all time records (other did not run).

I left home with a bright sun rising over the hills. Somewhere along the way, though ... well here is my marshal point (base of Heartbreak Hill).

As you couldn't see the hill, I presume it wasn't there ;-) It was a bit cold but I kept warm clapping (tired arms!). There were also an unusually high number of spectators, I must have had 20-30, plus several dogs, behind me.

Attendances stalled, then dipped, at one point: however the ten top turnouts (and 20/22) have all been this year.

The lovely NYD parkrun map, set for Southampton. When I was surprised to see all those dots appear South of Southampton: clearly my idea of where it is was a bit off .

google.com

And the text based version tailrun.uk

The parkrun with (I think) the most doubles listed as possible for a 25 minute parkrunner is Bracknell, with 52; followed by Dinton Pastures and Maidstone with 46, and Henley-on-Thames with 45.

If you aren't able to run, please consider volunteering. Several local (to me) parkruns are struggling for volunteers.

Nice picture, Dvorak. I remember that hill from December last year.

Let it snow Daisy
I've done Netley Abbey and thought it was lovely but IIRC we were on an alternative course because there was some event on in the park. Very friendly bunch, good cafe for afterwards too.
