Went to Vine House farm today ( vinehousefarm.co.uk ) with mum for seed - and tea and cake Was too hot to walk around but apparently they have 100s of tree sparrows and a big list of other regulars, will be going back for an afternoon once it cools down a bit, looks like a great place to wander around if anyone is in the area. |

A long time since I went to Bempton Cliffs. I was amazed at the clickers they used to count the birds but I think that also says a lot about the vast size of the colonies on display - especially this time of year.

Saw a Buzzard being hounded by crows as it passed through their territory I presume.

Watching countless sandmartins feeding over the River Tees today completely oblivious to us with two dogs. Amazing to see. There were lots in the banks between Blackwell and Broken Scar today - and a lovely heron looking for his dinner. Water level is very low! |

Yes. That’s the very point we were watching them. I suspect they’ve been nesting there for many many years.

We saw them first in April 21 - I think the majority of this bank was created by washing away the original bank line in the floods earlier. |
