Went back to my old manor this evening: Strid Woods at Bolton Abbey. Highlights included: pair of redshank, mandarin, several goosander, seemingly dozens of singing thrush, dipper, LTT, displaying lapwing and a tawny owl. No sand martin or common sand yet :(

Might've been then Steve. Loads of Shelducks and Redshanks on the Conwy river this morning. Loads of lovely little birds around the RSPB reserve after parkrun. I get mixed up, small bird, similar to a chiff chaff, but a slightly different song?

Avocet on my local patch at lunchtime, first time I've seen one here. Couldn't find any Blackcaps though. And after a mass exodus last weekend the Lapwings have started to reappear.
