Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I can un-see the hand drawn diagram of a vagina and associated medical notes I unearthed in a pile of utilities bills and PhD work from a former student.

I can understand why she stored her bills and medical notes (some of which are Not Safe For Work and pretty confidential) at work in the first place.

[I do know she was very busy at the end before her flight out of the country, so I can almost understand why she left them, but they really shouldn't have been here in the first place]

[I’m having a serious think about opting out from NHS pension. I’ve got to work until 67 (when it used to be 60) and at the moment I’ll be 71 before I break even. And no doubt they’ll move the goalposts again before I’m 67.]

Paranoid? Me? Why do you think I'm paranoid? You just told me you were watching.

I am sure that the reason Sainsbury's have not replied to my letter of complaint is that they are considering carefully the brilliant analysis of their problems that I put to them

(The shop is overcrowded most of the day and the shelves begin to empty from mid-afternoon. If they didn't have an empty-shelf policy then people would be happy to shop later in the day.)

TSB have responded to my complaint from April, other than to say “we are busy with complaints”

Just talk to each other, you speak the same bureaucratic language and I don't. Having me as a go-between is completely pointless and really stressful and actually what I wanted to do today was stay in bed and cry.

Nationwide respond to my enquiries in a swift and efficient manner. I don’t have to call them to find out they have done absolutely diddley-squat. I’m sure they’ll handle a formal complaint in the same responsive fashion

I didn't go back to bed. This is a sensible way to face the day.
