Agreed Sushi, it doesn't appear like a home... I can never imagine needing four separate offices in my home (and they're all next to each other)!

Not been following this thread since day 1 - is £30m the most expensive one yet ?

I'm sure I could a really nice house for £2-3m and spend £27m on something else :-p

I remember thinking house prices in the IOM didn't seem too bad in comparison to Cambridge when I was last there. Obviously a lot of big, expensive places , but also a lot of retirement bungalows.

Sushi.
Yeah. Just been having a browse. There are some more reasonable properties but definitely pricier than here.

My family over there are all in properties at the very expensive end of the scale though not 30m expensive

The glass house is stunning, but they've not made the best use of it.

Similarly the kitchen garden.

You could be semi-independent for food if done properly.

It’s been on the market for 2 1/2 years - guess there’s not that many people around with a spare 30 million.

Why do none of these big expensive places ever look as though someone actually lives there? They all look like hotels or show houses rather than homes

There might be people living there, but for the photos they'll have tidied everything away.

My mum had a morning job cleaning for the rich folks down the hill from where we lived. Their homes were immaculate 24/7, only the children's bedrooms ever showed any sign of distress.

They'll all be professionally staged at that price point. That's becoming more common even for relatively normal houses.

I would imagine anyone buying or selling a house at this price in the IoM has homes elsewhere too, of course.
