I’ve got 3 pair of 4% I might start using them. I’m gonna sell one of my VF2.

Yes, because these shoes are so light, they'll still be fast even after they've lost their 'pop'.

I think with miles mine have lost some support but for shorter stuff they still seem to be responsive. I think they are my favourite iteration of supershoes that I've tried

I think there's a couple of things to consider. The carbon plate aids responsiveness so for shorter distances they could work well given you're less likely to need cushioning properties. They are also still more/ as cushioned and likely more responsive than other shoes at a lighter weight than an EVA shoe of similar spec. The losing pop is in comparison to itself not older shoes. The Victory Waffle 5 I have for example has no pop whatsoever from new as they have no cushioning. A Vivobarefoot shoe would be the same.

A shoe expert on a podcast said that the cushioning of a super shoe after 300miles was the same as the cushioning of a new EVA shoe.

I don't think he had any evidence to back up his opinion though but I think he may be right.

Dr Geoff Burns said different to that with his research. Real Science of Sport June 2024.

They're good shoes. I must confess I don't feel much difference between the different iterations of the Vaporfly.

I have a regular Vaporfly 3 that I now use in training and today I ran in the Vaporfly 3 flyknit for the first time.

For the first time in over 10 years (I’m now well into my 40s…) I’ve ran a sub-20 5k again! Although training has gone well, I think some carbon shoes have finally worked ok for my running style. The Metaspeed Edge Paris. So, if anyone wants some Vaporfly 2s (UK8) with about three 5ks of runs in them let me know…the ASICS are about 30 seconds quicker over 5k for me!
