J2R I have the lingerging sensation of cheating when wearing super shoes. So if I do a PB, is it really a PB, or did I just shortcut it.

I’m still a bit bothered that my 5k Pb was on a course I suspect to have been a touch short.
I’d rather beat it in supershoes than have it stand permanently:-)

My mile PB was listed on PO10 as 5:20 at one point when it should have been 5:22 due to a result sorting issue that was never resolved. Glad I actually beat it as I tried a couple of times to get it fixed with no joy.
I think there's the doubt now for anyone wearing the shoes if they are truly better, which I guess means you have to set a PB, then beat that PB to be sure of a true improvement and even then might not be sure it an overall improvement in your capabilities.
I guess ranking lists will act as a reset as presumably the time to be 1000 etc on the the season rankings will end up x seconds faster going forward.
Would be interesting to see if the road relays winning times get faster as well.

JDA - my 10km was 150 metres short , I then ran within 10 seconds a week or so later on another course that wasnt officially measured so not even on power of 10. IT SUCKS !!
Just ran a very controlled low 20 for 5km so quickest I have covered the distance since last September. Done in a progressive run and pretty straight forward.

I just had a look at the race that gave me an incorrect PB at the time. 14 runners and for 11 of them that race from 2010 is still their PB. Not sure where exactly the issues started in the results and maybe some haven't done a mile since or stopped running but surprising on the face of it.

It took me years to beat my Parkrun PB when Edinburgh was re-measured and found to be c80-100m short and was then I suspect a bit overdistance just to be siure

They were moved to harder qualifying marks (GFA and Championship times) but also new system for GFA means you have to get the time and still hope it's good enough when all applications have come in and cutoffs announced.
Fair few decent runners were still not wearing VF in 2019, I expect a higher % to have some brand of super shoe going forward, so these marks will come under more pressure than back then.
You can see from power of 10 rankings year on year how times have been moving, and make a rough inference of what % had switched (when there was a full calendar of races!)
