Sadly my 18min effort in 4% was not broken out from the rest of the run

interesting that Gobi. So, that's ZF vs VF.
Do you have similar data for a non-Nike shoe? That'd be the 4% comparison, right?

Oh so here we go
5.56 pace in the zoom - 1.34 stride length 5.53 pace in the 4% - 1.37 stride length
These runs are a week apart so my conditioning is similar
Again supports the 4% I get a longer stride for less effort

@Puzzler I've gone back to look at my garmin's running dynamics for my last run in my VFs and they are pretty much the same as when i run in my adios 3. i'd say the main difference is probably in the reduced perceived effort and the "springiness" in my step.
Bear in mind that i only wear them for long tempo runs anyway and naturally those are high cadence runs.

But the Zooms still look better than the Puma spikes on those figures right?

Meanwhile some H streets (brand new) have appeared on ebay at 29.95... women's in white with a mauve swoosh, but as my feet are bloomin wide anyway and men's runners are nearly always too narrow for me, and given H streets have been unavailable for the last 4 years, beggars cannot be choosers. Hmm Zoom fly's vs h streets.
Separately what's the cheapest anyone has picked up the 4% VF's for? Under 200?

now that ^ is unexpected and perhaps not what Nike's marketers wanted to hear!
