The furthest north I've lived in the UK is Oakham, in Rutland. I've lived in Moscow, which is on about the same latitude as Edinburgh, but in Russian terms that isn't north at all.

I just checked the map of Europe...
2 observations: the UK is still on it.
The North of the Netherlands is about as far North as I am in the UK...
Herefordshire/South Wales borders... Southerner then, which matches the lack of gravy in my life nicely.
