Lol. Yeah, it maybe the same as when Froome took the tour. Thomas and Stannard are in great form. TBF Wiggins only wants to lead at PR. Sky have the numbers in training though, so if Wiggins is proving it there, he should go to PR as his TT power will help there and he proved himself last year. A long range attack by Wiggins can help Thomas. I feel a little sorry for Sagan. |

So G sticks another great ride despite being blown all over and then off the road and the Roubaix hope steps off. Will we have another 2014 will he, won,t he be in the team as we had for the Tour team. Can,t see Wiggo lasting 260k in Roubaix at racing pace if he,s not prepared to last 230k at the peloton pace of today. Watched a junior race this morning run off in 60kph winds and rain, peloton all over the place but few willingly packed despite the conditions. Pro riders wll soon have weather protocols, juniors could have done with that too but they all rode willingly. |

The question is whether it was just caution, or he didn't have the legs. Paolini attacked at just the right time, makes his chase to get back on so worth it. EQS seem destined to make the race but not win this year. |

I agree that,s the question but really if you are in the peloton and you know how to stay out of the wind, and he surely must know, it has to be worth completing the race to get the miles in your legs. Answers both quantity and quality test imho.

Inner Ring's race review: inrng.com He's right about Vanmarcke, he seems to have lost the form he was showing at the beginning of 'Spring'. That along with the absence of Boonen and Cancellara leaves Flanders and PR wide open IMO. The only certainty is EQS will make the race. |

Some years ago at G-W there was a similar sort of day with big crosswinds. The break went very early, the chase was on but the winds were too strong and the break had too big a lead and everyone packed iirc. Cav was riding and was in the 2nd or later group and made his usual pithy comment!

Wiggins has said Thomas is favourite for Flanders, and it seems Sky are prepared to control the race, and expect EQS won't do as much as they usually do. cyclingnews.com |
