Hills of Death (HOD)
I think work especially my work is a cause of my stress/anxiety. I've spent many years trying to progress and hitting brick walls/red tape. The fact that I'm well paid and not overworked isn't as 'good' as it sounds.

we've been mortgage free for 10 years thanks to luck and inheritance Hubby thinks 10K a year would keep him happy and hopes to quit in Jan 23 after his 55 birthday. I think I would go part time for a bit at least.
I've done the stressful jobs and now do a boring job with ok but not great pay.
If I am brutal well Great Gran is now 99 and won't last much longer - money will bypass kids as they "have enough" so will come straight to the grandchildren. As she lives in Berkshire house prices are high but that will probably mean inheritance tax too
Covid has massively reduced my spending (no idea what I used to waste it on!) so I know I can live off a lot less too which makes planning easier. My 7 years in teaching has resulted in a better pension than my 20+ years of private pension.
Can anyone recommend the best thing to do to collate pensions and review? We have Scottish Widows privately and a few work pension scraps

Fragile Do Not Bend
You really need an independent financial advisor EP, a decision to keep or cash in pensions depends on so many things.

If you get an ifa
Get one who works for a flat fee Check out the cars in the car park
My IFA had a Bentley with personalised numberplates. I followed some of his recommendations but I did not hand control of my pensions to him for an annual % - that's what keeps him in Bentleys.

Velociraptor
Last night I received a text and email indicating that my workload may be changing in a way I don't like w.e.f. today. I'm about to head into my workplace with my pension application forms, which my opposite number has agreed to witness. I did all the sums again last night just for reassurance. We'll be OK. No Bentleys, but we should be able to afford both food and heating.
I don't expect any inheritance. I didn't get anything (there wasn't anything) when my grandparents passed, and I think it's likely that my parents will live another 10 years or more (they were quite young when I was born) and decide to bypass my sibling and me in favour of their grandchildren. eL Bee! should inherit enough from his father to replace his current income for a few years if everything goes to shit in his workplace.
