I was still awake at 5:30, guess it will take a bit of time to ease into retired life. And Mrs Dill will still expect her tea in bed first thing.

It took me about three months to stop waking up at 6.15. Nowadays I usually wake between 7.30 and 8.00 - bliss (small things like this make a real difference). I’m sure you will find a natural rhythm to your days soon - enjoy 😁😁😁 |

I’m still up early every day - there’s 6:15am swim days, the dog will jump on your head to remind you it’s breakfast time between 6 and 6:30 and there’s training to be done before it impinges on the day. Major difference in my life is evenings - free to relax. Previously it would be training after work, then dinner, then life stuff and perhaps a tiny window to relax before exhaustion sent me to bed. |

My wife retired 4 years after me so I got in the habit if getting up at 6:45 to bring her tea and toast in bed before work. Strangely now she's retired, she has come to expect this service to continue 😆

We kind of take it in turns, equitable and you really appreciate receiving. I couldn’t bear to have it brought in every morning - wouldn’t sit well.
