um
The geo spread is important I think. Last year my adviser starting wanting to move more of my pot into overseas investments, saying all the forecasts for UK shares were fairly dire.

Having looked down the retirees list ➡️ where there are many Fetchies that are so familiar from their regular postings, I began to wonder if the membership of Fetcheveryone, like the general population of the country is aging. Is this something that @fetcheveryone could enlighten us on? |

Sigh
It's a great question, @Eynsham Red - last December I took the list of page hits and then added age categories; as these were going to be the Fetchies who'd been the most active / here the longest, I expected it to be skewed towards the veteran categories. Of the top 100, only four were age cat 40 or lower, 56 were 55 or over (pension access age); within which, 13 were 65 or over (state pension age). As to how many of those had declared retirement from work, I didn't check. I stopped at that point, as to manually add age cats to the entire list from 100 onwards was something (a) that would get in the way of more enjoyable things and (b) I just CBA |

In other news but not of a Fetchie, I heard this afternoon that BBC Radio 2’s is retiring due to ill health at the end of the month. This is sad for me, obviously because it’s always a shame to learn that someone I’ve enjoyed listening to is very ill and probably has little time left, but also his Sounds Of The 70’s show has been my go to download when running, walking or more recently “gyming”. (Sorry to take thread off track). |

The main proviso here is that you're more likely to be in the top 100 is you've been on Fetch a long time- and hence are likely to be older! Someone in their 20s is unlikely to have had the time to make several hundred thousand posts

ER I’m guessing that’s Johnnie Walker you’re talking about. It’s a great shame, but it’s been difficult listening to him become frailer week by week.

Someone in their 20s is unlikely to have had the time to make several hundred thousand posts Top 100 is counted on clicks, but on posts there’s no one over about 150k posts and only 2 currently active posters over 100,000 posts. I’m at 1.9 million hits after 10 years on here. |
