We’ve been working out finances today it’s looks ok but it’s also scary to think ‘what if’
We then got chatting to an older couple (can say that their kids are our age) and they said they were visiting and in camper van (our retirement plan) so we got chatting. She said she was so scared to leave paid employment husband was very much ‘look at Jim and Jean (not real names) across the street. 4 holidays a year to Spain and they only have their state pension, of course we can afford it, so they left and never looked back. They have zero regrets and said as you guys have no one ever says wish I worked longer.
She said on paper it looked worse than the reality - which we know when we bought this house we thought we’d be living on beans on toast, within 6 months I bought my dream car.

Exactly what I am doing - re job wise. We are stuck at home while van being converted so I have been doing some work as and when required. Last year I had a temp Christmas job which kept me busy in the dark cold months and it's more pennies for holidays.

So sorry to hear both of these Pix.
I almost died 16yrs ago in surgery My cousins husband did die unexpectedly 9yrs ago Neighbour had a heart attack a few months ago at 47, thankfully he survived Yours and 😊G’s posts all remind you life is not guaranteed and can be short
It’s all stark reminders. Just need to do it but we are both cautious people who like to live life and I would hate to come out and find we can’t afford to travel.
We’ll get there! It’s a good week.

That’s what I think will happen for us too Moo, Mrgg is a skilled engineer with scarce skills he can 110% contract. I will look to do some part time work to boost funds. Thanks for sharing ❤️

Night shift 2 nights a week in my local Asda would suit me if I really needed to get some money together. Would love not to have to but I’m not afraid to work or say I need the money. Still waiting for dad’s affairs to be tied up so I do think I’ll be okay then.

Works for me! Apparently Amazon is also another good option for a few hours here and there.
There is options. Feeling more positive.
