That's really good, same pay, same hours, more time off.

We never had fixed hours but had flexitime way back last century. So you could work long days and then take one off whenever you wanted. I think it was limited to a day per fortnight so you didn’t get people playing silly buggers camping in the office for a few days and then taking a week off.

My dad was working a nine day fortnight when he retired, and that was thirty years ago. They've been around a long long time.

Joke at our place was ‘we have flexi-time: core hours are 8:00-18:30, and the rest of the job you could work as flexibly as you want…..’

Sigh
I had a nice surprise this week. Out of the blue, I received a pro-rata bonus payment for the last four months I was at work; I messaged my old boss and asked "is this another mistake by payroll?" She replied, "No it’s not a mistake, it’s your pro rata bonus 😊. I guess they haven’t sent a letter/email to explain?! Typical payroll!!"

That’s really lovely. It happened to me once after leaving a company and it made me feel very positive about that company, and gave me no hesitation in recommending it as a good place to work.
