the current SP age is 66 raising to 67 for those born after 1960, There is talk/suggestions that those born after 1970 should have a SP age of 70-71. when would they need to decide upon this? EP, the SP is already 67 for those born after 1960. |

My poor husband was made redundant mid 50’s and diagnosed with bladder cancer a week later. When he’d almost recovered a couple of years later, he was diagnosed with dementia and has been in a care home at the age of 61. He’s 62 now and, unfortunately, he may not make state pension age. I’m younger but already looking at everything I can do to be able to retire. That will still be at least 10 years away. I’ve got to this stage of my life… not really having a life due to caring responsibilities for our eldest disabled son. I haven’t been anywhere for more than 4 nights for the past 20 years (and that’s few and far between). I hope I’m in a position to make up for this later in life. |

I don't have private health insurance but what I've saved by not having it over the years will pay for me to choose who gets to operate on my knees if it becomes necessary.
