Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
Wow, that's an unusual one. How strange for him to change and your position to become so unpleasant. Glad you got out safely! G

Happy, I have *thoughts* about Experian and FICO but as I haven't worked for either of them for years I shall keep mum...

I once had to do some work with Experian in Nottingham. They had 2 identical, but mirror, buildings either side of Electric Avenue (we're going rock down to...). It was very confusing when you went to find the toilet but it was in the opposite place to where you thought it was.

I’m taking a pension from my original career.
I was a process development chemist with big pharma started with A levels and did my degree through them part time, Three mergers, a series of promotions and three drugs seen to launch (and three children) later was burnt out and not enjoying some of the changes that were happening to the department. Jumped at voluntary redundancy (with enhanced pension benefits) and spent three years being full time mum. Went back to work as a “part time” lab tech for the school my kids had been/went to as a favour to their chemistry teacher and - owing to the stuff in GM’s post- left when the school closed due to LA shenanigans. At that point I was teaching biology and several other roles as well as the original - untrained and virtually unpaid. (The school closed a week before my 55th birthday, so missed out on enhanced LA pension)

2023 retirement-a-go-go! You lucky lot!
Anyone else who has retired recently (or not recently) want to have a go?
What was your job? Who was your employer (anonymise it as "one of the big 5 retailers" or otherwise if you want)? Did you like your job when you started or at some previous point? Did you like it by the time you chose to retire? Do you feel you retired later than you would like, about the right time (or hopefully unusual, but were you forced to retire earlier than you would have liked and wish you could have worked longer?)

Thanks all, really enjoyed all the retirement contexts. Will do mine this morning - it’s quite a tale - need to be on laptop as opposed to phone though!

Actually, I had a look at the demographic spread of the 100 Fetchies with the most page hits. 56 are in the 55 Age category or higher. Not sure how that compares across all users.

If I was retired I'm not sure I could answer that question - there has been soooooooo many
Still ducking and diving in the IT world. They haven't found out I'm a complete charlatan so far About 20 months to go before I start thinking about getting out on my terms I reckon.
