HappyG - Pensions are not liable for NI. If working, generally NI is paid until the end of the tax year you reach state pension age. Slightly different between employee and self employed. gov.uk Dio - you'd have got 3 years 'credit' from 16-19. For most of us here, there was no crefit for university years. But there was a waiver for NI while in education. So (eg) I worked holidays while at uni (74-77) and was credited with full years for those, even though only working a few weeks at Xmas, Easter, and then 12-15 weeks over the summer. |

I have paid voluntary NI since 2014, as I haven't earned enough all those years to need to pay it. No hardship...

Fizz :-)
My first part time day off. We planned an hour lie in, but overslept, so had two hours. I’ve done the weekly shop in Lidl and will be making home made pizza for tea later. We know how to live!

I went 5 days to 2 days in 2019. I've probably had less than 5 days like Fizz's ever since - can't remember the last - not sure I've got this slow down the pace of life gig cracked yet :-).

I'd have said that the first time I "retired", but it took me no time at all for the two or three 6-hour shifts a week I accepted to become a great deal more.

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I put my cards on the table today, called my line manager to tell him I am leaving at the end of the year, they are currently short listing for interview for same role in our sister hospital, decided to tell him now so he can look for 2 suitable candidates.
