Sigh
Similar things happened to Mr Ness when he worked for the FFS. ... The whole of the FFS was shut down a few months later so the 'second wave' ended up being everyone else!

What was the FFS? I only know those initials as an expression, not a place of work :-)

Doh. Slipped up. Probably because of things Mr Ness said about the place! 🤪😂 haha!

Should have put FSS or actually the Forensic Science Service, which was part of the Home Office when Mr Ness initially worked for them. It was disbanded as oart of government cuts.

Baz I'm no where near that money as only been here 5 yrs
Ness everyone has been saying for weeks that there must be more cuts - upstairs was hardly touched and apparently the company has been told the budget will be a LOT lower so there will be cuts
Mr Pix's boss was unaffected this time and is hoping to go next year - he's on the exec team so has some good knowledge

Sigh I believe Mr Ness was in forensics?

You were right Pix. Was having a senior moment with it's initials though.

Almost as bad as confusing FSA with SFA.

Sigh
Thanks, I just wondered.

At work I did once deal with a customer, Petroineos Manufacturing Scotland Ltd, who abbreviated their name to PMSL and didn't seem to notice the humour in it.

When I worked at ABB, it was often known as "Acronyms Beyond Belief"

Lol Sigh! :)

Mr Ness did enjoy a fair bit of the work there. The DNA fingerprinting was fairly routine lab work though. I'm not 100% sure but I think most of the work went to private labs, apart from the Met lab (which Mr Ness visited a few times). I think that ended up being taken over by the Met Police force. The lab was in their building anyway iirc.
