I read Portrait as a prelude to Ulysses a few years ago. Never did finish Ulysses though. Might go back to it over the summer.

The internal monologue can get somewhat overpowering at times.

Question for those who audio book. I notice some well at list the CDs in shopsvsome are abridged (some unabridged) Does it matter to you. Or don't you buy from shops and its all off an app

I'm not a frequent audiobook listener, but when I do, I always listen to an unabridged version. If I ever get back to Ulysses, I will probably listen to this version - archive.org which is excellent.

Definitely unabridged for me. I've just rejoined Audible so I can get the Game Of Thrones books, the first one is 33 hours!!! :-)
