Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Agree. 73 yards is easily my favourite so far. The best episode is quite a while. Massive kudos to Millie Gibson; I thought she was good in the earlier episodes but for me this proved it.

Was a lot of "Turn Left" in it (a Russell T Davies episode) and also a lot of "Years and Years" (also RTD!) if anyone has seen that (don't worry if you haven't, it was interesting more than good IMO).
One scene seemed very much a hat tip to "American Werewolf in London" too!

Btw, I did enjoy Boom but was also a bit disappointed. Was fundamentally a much better episode that the first two, but for me there were too many things that I then thought it got wrong: the moral messages; the final reveal with the war; the romance while there is a flipping countdown happening! So quite good, but no more.

Next one looks creepy...

73 yards was a really good stand-alone story. All the better for doing away with much of the dependency on CGI and flash bang effects!

So apparently '73 yards' was the first of this series to be filmed (while Ncuti was still working on something else). So like 'Blink' where something good came out of the necessity of having to cope without David Tennant.

Also 73 yards - I'm always here for "folk horror" Doctor Who.

What other episodes can people remember of the folk horror ilk?

I think "The daemons" with Jon Pertwee, and definitely "Pyramids of Mars" although there's several others around that time that could qualify. Sure there's others from more recent series... definitely one or two Tennant ones.

I wasn't expecting much from that having seen the trailers, but agree that was another good episode.
