great idea TT. I'm about 6/10 on core, strength and don't forget flexibility training. I do at least one and sometimes two sessions per week. Things I find make me do it: classes. You book, you pay, you go! more fun, some focus, structure. I do bodypump & pilates, but almost any of the less aerobic classes would do. Balance, yoga, bt&t, even just circuits. Second: plan. If u can plan 5 running sessions and do them, then u can plan four runs plus one or more core. tell yourself the day, how llng, what u wi'l do. tnen track it like u track miles. Good luck all! BTW there is a thread where we track, gym n cross training not just miles. join that too?! http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=43255 oh, if doing ur own core work, some links for that in header of furman http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=39828 thread too. beginners.runnersworld.com :-)G |

Cheers HG. Wil put them links in the header now. I think one of the key things is as you say putting them in the plan. |

I need to get a shift on with this stuff too before I just fold in half in the middle and can't get back up again. Also have a 9 month on mummy tummy to address. Weight all gone but alarming blobby in the middle area.

I'm in. I need ideas, support and a kick up the butt to be consistent with my core / strength training. Now marathon training is over I'm going to continue doing a class each a week of body pump, balance and Spin... BUT.. ..is that enough? Should I be doing sit ups etc at home too? |

Join the group Jude. Going for a run in a minute but will start pairing people up for pestering duties this afternoon. Just looked at the Core H plan, looks like may be a few weeks down the line before I can do that one..... Some really good videos and advice on that site though |
