I love running in the rain. The heavier the better! I took Tilly (my dog) out for a run in the park during a torrential downpour. We passed loads of people taking shelter under trees, they looked at us as if we were mad.
Any how, I have added a couple of new swiss ball exercises to the routine now. Butterflies with 8 kg dumbells whilst laying on the SB (between the shoulder blades). If you haven't done this one it's great. You have to keep your abdo flat (a la plank, but the other way up) and if you keep your feet together you will have to engage your obliques too, to stop you falling of the ball.

My abs hurt all the way up after yesterday's core session. Lunges and squats tomorrow.

I am going to my first Cardio/Core/Balance session at the gym on monday.
I am a bit nervous that it is going to be full of hard-core types with ripped 6-packs. Hopefully, the peer pressure of being in a group will motivate me more than the ad hoc approach that I am currently using.

I did my first session using TRX bands as part of my PT session on Thursday. We always do some core exercises, but boy, I really felt the effect on my abdominal muscles.

Had a free hour long 1-1 sesh with a PT on kettlebells last week. The next day I was like an old lady trying to pick things up off the floor I'm lucky to have use of a lake v close to my house, so a couple of sessions in there cooled the aching thighs down quite quickly. Have now got a programme so just need to send off for some kettlebells.
Is that your Tilly on your avatar AndrewS? She's beautiful.

Kayaking. I can recommend kayaking. After 6 hours of sea kayaking on Saturday, I can tell you everything from glutes, lower back, abs, obliques and up hurts! Might have to get me one for core training! :-)G
