I'm plodding down the side of the A38 dual carriageway between Burton on Trent (*beer* please?) and Lichfield.

Given I've run and driven along the A38 in Devon, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Derbyshire too, I'm wondering if it might qualify as one of Britain's longest roads? Sadly ;-) .... en.wikipedia.org
