We see the castle several times each week, so it is normal (and Norman, apparently a superb example!). I ran Larne Half, further up the coast, with a friend from Warrington. He is a history buff and we drove past the castle without comment - he nearly climbed out of the car! There is an excellent account of it on Secrets of Great British Castles on Netflix.
