What about the Boardman with £200 off down to £650, which has 1*11, is that not an even better spec ? No size Large frame though, just small and medium. If you need a Large, add £100 and get the Boardman that's reduced from £1000 to £800

Deore 10 speed cassette is 40 or 50 quid depending on ratio. SRAM 11 speed start at 87 for a 10/11 speed driver, and if it’s an XD driver it’s much more. Cheaper prices available on line where sram is being shagged (everywhere) and take no notice of SRAM’s artificially high srps. Raidons can be serviced but not easily. |

Which Boardman is that one? I can only see the MHT 8.6 at £650 which is 1x10?

TBH, the "sit on" suggestion doesn't really help me out as I'm so short on experience that I don't know what "good" feels like, though I'm perfectly happy to lay the seat forward or back, or shorten / lengthen the stem if I need to if I do find things uncomfortable enough. I'm definitely a "buy on specification" purchaser for myself when it comes to MTBs. My son on the other hand is supersensitive to the way a bike feels, but as he and I are very different sizes I don't think he can help me out much either!! Boardman is 34/42 rather than 32/42 on the Bizango, so I may struggle uphill a little more on the Boardman. |
