Yes. Popular music from the 1960’s. A very good example ;-)

Top choice Steve, love it.

With regard to the Gloria Jones "Come Go With Me" - that's a cover for sure, you'll see it's dated 2012. It's a bit surprising tbh, northern soul fans are nothing if not purists and coming up with a sub-standard version of an all-time classic will be tantamount to heresy in some people's eyes. Still, someone will have thought it worthwhile I suppose. Ian Levine was the culprit in-chief for a lot of tracks like that. It does sound like the same backing track, I guess it was dubbed off. Not uncommon in the Northern Soul world to find the same backing track with different vocals, a lot of labels played that game and there's even examples of backing tracks migrating across labels :-)

Interesting to read of 'recycling', Martyn - far from unknown in reggae & dub.

The calculated conflict between the vocal and melody's an essential part of this track's appeal, Martyn. ^

Fantastic NE. The lad can sing and reminds me quite a bit of Smokey. High praise
