The Doctor K Cup

The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in

I thought I'd have to walk quite a bit but I didn't so I was much quicker than predicted. Oops. Oh well. Thinking of absent friends today

Sigh
Just back online. Ran a 10 mile recce of a route that I've not done for 5 years, ahead of racing it in November. Got back to a tepid shower as everyone else had taken all the hot water. Just warming up with a coffee, and TBR's comment on my run alerted me that I was in the lead! Didn't expect that! Took control of 7 CQ Zones |

I’ve run a slow but beautiful route this morning. I’ve visited a new CQ zone, aptly named The Glory Bumps by whoever owns it. It was hilly and boggy but very pretty in the forest today. I don’t think I’ve got good enough internet to upload the photo, but I did think of our absent friends on the way round xx |

Done, I am happy that I was 35 seconds faster than I predicted, and 34 seconds faster than the last 5k I ran, in June. Doctor K selfie in my activity (after I was home and hosed) fetcheveryone.com/t-18198845 RIP

Sushi.
I didn’t do a picture but I did do it as a race so no earphone just so it felt more like an ‘event’. I was 6secs out on my prediction. Happy to be back doing what I love, remembering those that loved it too. |

Late in asking, but there's plenty of time until midnight: is treadmill running allowable for the isolators? The display will be covered and more than 5k will be done before stopping?
