Final run of any significant distance. 18km in the bag. But what a tough one in that wind. 2 steps forward 1 step back. It feels like I actually ran 25km because of it!! How has everyone else running day been?

I ran yesterday and we had gale-force winds and sideways rain for parts of the run! Then the sun came out and the wind dropped, but just as we'd dried out the wind and rain returned with a vengeance! Finally finished about 13.5 miles in bright sunshine - I think we had four seasons in one run!

How's the taper going, Team One? Hope you are all cutting back the miles and piling in the carbs!

Hope all is going well with everyone. I was wondering if it'd be a good idea for everyone to give approximate finish times so we know when to expect you, and have anything you've left ready to collect.

Well done Murphey.

Not good for me. I haven't run for 8 days and I am struggling to walk never mind run. I 'think' I'm out but will decide next weekend for definite. So disappointed but trying to be optimistic.

Happy tapering to everyone else.

Whiteflash - so sorry to hear that. I know you have been struggling with injury issues, but it is a very hard decision to take. If you do decide to drop out, you would be very welcome to join us on the other side of the barrier. I've only once had to DNS in a marathon, and I think I'd rather do that than start and not be able to finish, but the decision has to be a personal one. Are you prepared to adjust your finishing time expectations? Are you happy to just 'get round' if necessary? If the answer to both of those is 'no', then not starting is obviously the best option. It's been said many times before, and it will be said again - you can defer until next year, and there are plenty of other marathons :-)

In the meantime, if you decide not to run London, when you are fit again you can cash in on all that marathon training by maybe going for a PB at a shorter distance ;-)

Is it too early to start feeling nervy and to start doubting and questioning your training?

Never too early! Stay strong and trust in what you've done though
