When I were nobbut a whippersnapper, leaf tea was the only readily available kind. The strainer was a vital component in the tea ceremony, and the teapot had to be warmed. 'One per person, and one for the pot'.
After stirring, the tea was ready but I loathed getting tea leaves in my mouth in the event of strainer overspill!

I remember that too, Swittle!
Brew #6 - had to knock back #5 as it was going cold on my desk after a random fire drill.
Discovered that our office has separate shelters for smoking and vaping, both located on different sides of the fire assembly area.

Good memories of the teapot ceremony here too - also involved adding half a spoon of sugar to the pot. And a quick stir a minute or so before pouring.
Still can't drink the last sip due to fear of limescale / tea leaves.. Waahh!
Some of my family nowadays use tea granules with the milk included - double waahh!
Bit lacking in tea the last couple of days due to a stomach bug - just peppermint. Back to Tetleys now though.
