Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think it was probably created in the forum category that was set to automatically compost when there had been no posts for a certain amount of time.

I've listed all the threads that are *only* tagged with one of the popular distances or a year:

fetcheveryone.com/forum-tagging-races.php

I'll put that link in the sidebar on this thread.

Q: Why are only some of the tags hyperlinks?

Secondly, now that I have tagged all the Book Group discussion threads (there are 68 of them) I thought I might give each one a supplementary tag relating to genre to help ensure that the 10 linked are the most relevant rather than just a random selection or the same 10 for every book. Is that ok with you all? I'll try and keep it to no more than 6 tags so that each tag is well-used.

A: They have less than 100 matches. The more popular tags produce more matches than is useful.

Fine with me :-)

Probably I should have done the book threads, but that’s too much of a busman’s holiday :)

Thanks, Ian, for the tag list you posted. It looks really useful. There's quite a job there!

I have done a fair bit of tagging of race/event threads already and I am sure several of you have too. Any thoughts on a consistent and productive way of tackling these?

So far, when I find one of these threads, I have generally been adding a city or county tag and that seems to work quite well. Is that a good way to continue? Is there anything else that would help get them into useful size groups? As noted earlier, if the event is a "big" one with several threads, then I have gone down to town/city as well, but that's probably only the case for half a dozen or so (plus the World Marathon Majors, of course! Did you know there's no Tokyo Marathon thread?)

I know a geographical tag won't be relevant for some, but it would deal with at least half of them, I would have thought.

If there is an obvious conversation about accommodation options, then I'm adding an "accommodation" tag too.
