Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Meditation or yoga might help, or train yourself to do some deep breathing techniques which you could also use in the exam itself. I’ve always thought a big part of exam performance is anxiety management. So for me having rituals around exams was useful, like doing practice exams with the same equipment, chewing gum or sucking mints during exams (releases a bit of nervous energy). Mostly though I just made sure I exercised a lot.

I completed the essay. Not well, but it's in. Working on the next one now. Should get my results from the one before on Tuesday next week - annoying as I ought to have had them last Tuesday and I want the feedback for this one.

Good luck Scorge.

Well done Carp! None of your patients will give a shit about your essays once you qualify, good enough to pass is best!
Scorge: it’s useful to interpret anxiety as fuel for performing well. Like instead of saying OMG I feel so anxious I can’t focus you say Yay this adrenaline will help me laser focus on this exam for 2/3 hours. That really helped me, like seeing it as similar to pre-race nerves helping you to get a PB.

and done!
i gambled slightly as instead of covering two subject areas over the two questions, i went all in on knowing one area inside out hooping for the right question. happily, this worked out and got a couple of fairly softballs. satisfied that i haven't flunked it, unsure if i'll hit the mark i'm after though. long 5/6week wait incoming

for now - fuck it, i'm ordering a dominos. :)
