But that is appalling. They made it sound like very student would be tested before going home. In fact they made it sound like they’d HAVE to be tested before going home.

Absolutely no faith in this government to get anything right. 😡

This just in: email to students

The University has now been selected to take part in the UK Government’s COVID-19 testing scheme for students who wish to get tested before moving away from their term time address for the vacation period. More information and guidance will be shared with you next week.

Ha! You beat me to it Linds! I just got the same message via lovely lady from Bath SU. Bath have also been given the nod that they will get funding to help with this...:-)

Oxford Brooks and GSA (which comes under Surrey university) have both said testing is available for all students, from November 30th. Totally optionally, all course on line from Monday 7th ( both mine are doing performance degrees and are majority f2f) until the end of term. Students are allowed to leave when they won’t to but they do not have to have left by December 9th.

Bath students will be given the option to have two tests, 3 days apart and then leave straight after test 2 result. Suggestion is to leave between 3rd and 9th. My boy is well up for leaving asap and I can't wait to get him home. There will be a testing site on campus, quick turnaround tests....that's the theory anyway...will it really happen?

Little Miss Happy
I think it will Katie - our arrangements for a similar scenario seem quite advanced.
