That's some pace to feel easy at Duck!
Been a strange few weeks for me. After a week of elation and not much training following my sub-80 at Wokingham, I then had a week of no motivation and not much training. Still finding it a bit hard to get motivated - my back-up race is at the end of March but the idea of getting pumped up to take an extra few seconds off the new pb does seem like a huge target at the moment. On the otherhand there's a local 10 miler this weekend, so I think I'll go to that and have a shot at a sub-60. Might as well cash in the pbs while I can!

Hi all, first post. Ran my first sub 80 a few weeks ago, three seconds to spare. Had a few weeks off before with achilles problems so happy enough to sneak under. Next step is sub 78 end of March but the injury may have put this out of reach for now.

Well done Fopp. Was just hitting the target down to supreme pacing or a serious sprint at the end?

Does anybody have some 5/10K times you ran in the few weeks before your sub 80 time? I have a 1/2 in 3 weeks, so will do a 10K next week, but wondering what a good 10K time converts to 79:xx? I'm thinking no slower than 36:30 to break 80?

Mine was 36:16 at Cardiff 10k when I went 78:4X at Cardiff Half a month later.

MPH - I ran an 18:07 Parkrun 5K 8 days before my 79:48.
So I think you may be able to get away with slower than 36:30 - but it just depends on your strengths.
