I had thought of doing an endurance cycle over the winter, just lots of 100m weeks of long slower runs. I find its usually too cold in winter to do proper speed training, so seems like a somewhat sensible alternative. One day when I have time I'll do it.

What does your Garmin race predictor say? I've dipped under 3hrs for the first time in a long time.

My Garmin says 3h03 at present, it will hopefully drop over the next few weeks as the big sessions accumulate.

20 miler today pushed back to evening as I did a solid Parkrun (18.15) yesterday in lieu of skipping Friday session which should have been Yasoo 800's but I was lone parenting so no opportunity.

3.03 here too.

However, that's come down from a 3.30 prediction at the start of July.

8 weeks to get it well under 3hrs before Chicago.

Not sure what mine says, gave up on the predictions as they were so wildly out of reality. However, I'll be running Chicago, unsafe breadbin.

Mine says about 4h. Itโ€™s probably the moat accurate itโ€™s been in a while :-)

My race is 1 week earlier than Chicago Unsafe Breadbin, 6th Oct. We should be on roughly the same trajectory, reaching the key weeks of training at the moment.

DT19 - I'll (fingers crossed) see you on the start line, if not before.

Damo - Best of luck with the ultra training! Two good ones in the Peak District in Sept, although a week apart - 56 miles and 40 miles. I'd fancied doing one, but too much to recover from heading into the final weeks.

I'm running the 5k the day before as a shake out as well. Fly in Friday.

Just managed to get in Corral A as well which open things up for me.
