Don't forget that your HR is likely to be higher just because of the heat rhb so don't be sucked into going too hard to run a particular pace if you've already decided it isn't going to be a PB attempt.

I hadn’t realised it was Leeds tomorrow, good luck! If your sensible it’ll be fun picking off people in the second half.

I’ve got a local 10 miler tomorrow so need to think what a sensible pace will be. Annoyingly it doesn’t start till 10.30, a 9am start wouldn’t have been too bad.

Can you defer? Doesn't seem much point in the race now given you wouldn't have entered if you had the weather info or is that heresy?

I'd have loved these temperatures for London. :-)

That's a late start Chris.

Best of luck RHB. Is it an early start for the marathon at least?

Intrigued to hear what ‘sensible pace’ comes out as Chris!

Go well RHB, did a HM in Leeds a few years ago and remember it being quite hot that day too!

I did a 10k there a while back and they had sprinklers set up. It was much more mid summer though.

Had a lovely sunny bike ride today, not too hot with a decent breeze but that was out in the countryside. It's grim up north!

Have a good run rhb whatever the weather brings.

Thanks all. 9am Mara stsrt.

With driver over & number collection I need be up 4.30am (done, obvs) but I struggled to switch off last night so have had <4hrs kip. Garmin "Body Battery" says 44, usually 80+ first thing.

Defo a steady day. I'm also testing 'pace pro' feature on watch see what that offer, although it reckons 6m40 ave is needed if I wanted to hit 2h58m30s (on a better day), so I'd be way behind that from the start really.

The joys of the night before a marathon!

I’ve not heard of pace pro before, just googled and my old fenix 5s doesn’t support it. In theory it sounds good but I can imagine it being a bit demoralising once you’ve lost the pace and it’s trying to tell you to run faster
