Strong run RHB.
I don't think banking time works. At best you're in for a painful last 10k.
For my race in Feb my strategy was simply no miles below 6.40 and none above 6.50. My goal was sub 3 and I was probably in slightly better shape than that, but I was clear about what I wanted from it, stuck to the race plan and just enjoyed feeling strong throughout.

Looks a lot like my marathon when I ran 3:02:30 back in 2016, I came back in 2017 and dipped the 3hr (not without a bit of drama - sprint up and down the hill at the end of York).
In fact it looks a lot like all my marathon's I don't think I've quite found marathon effort. Even in my best one I picked up effort too early and the last few miles were a struggle where I p*ssed away a minute or 2.
You've definitely got the pace to go sub-3, if I were you I'd try and do it in increments rather than setting off to run 2:55. If you set off at 3hr pace and feel great at halfway then just nudge the pace up very slightly, if you are still feeling good at 20, nudge the pace very slightly again, then if you still feel strong at 23 smash out the final parkrun.
I'm hoping to do similar in Boston, I'm very impatient so it will be tough to stay chilled if teh pace feels a bit easy but I'd love to end a marathon feeling strong to the end.

Forgot to add it to the sidebar list earlier but I ran Rotterdam yesterday. Managed to finish 3rd V55 in 2:43:18. Scraped a neg split by a few seconds but was really hanging on at the end by the skin of my teeth.
First time running Rotterdam and thought it was a top notch marathon. Flat course, bar the odd bridge, and superb atmosphere.

If you can run a comfortable 2:55 it’s great to cruise round at 6:40ish pace and enjoy a stress-free run without worrying about course length or a miscalculation or fade or whatever. One of my clubmates did that a few years back when he wanted to tick off the marathon, likewise markgallmac last year IIRC.
But you do have to be able to run 2:55, and if you’re just possibly in sub-3 shape it won’t work out quite so well

I think I have 4 x 3:02s and 2 x 3:00s that look very like those splits RHB. It’s just a fine balance, and as others said, Abingdon is the place to be

Excellent run Jomo. Looks like you held it together just enough over those last few miles!
