Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sorry I missed you Gordon!
I missed almost everyone apart from HB and Badger - it's not the same at the school as it used to be at the leisure centre, is it?

It isn't. Still a lovely fast race. I was looking through my race history today and I've run this 5 times since 2006, with 4 pbs, three of which are my fastest times (so on no other course have I run within about ninety seconds of a time I set in 2007)

Question:

i emailed the st neots race organisers to say a) fab race, but b) too much plastic waste. Their responce was "As of yet there is no other way of providng such amounts of water for over a thousand runners... without plastic cups being spread all over the famers fields".

if that were true then i'd agree. but i know this has been talked about on FE recently. Can anyone point me towards a thread and/or external site that gives advice to race organisers?

if they'd at least used smaller bottles for the water it would have cut the plastic. it's November, we don't need 500ml available at 4 water stations and the finish!

We have the same conversation about bottle size when organising the Great Eastern Run and the response from the water supplier, who sponsors the water larger bottles are cheaper than the smaller ones, so not unreasonably that's what they provide

So not only do we have excess plastic, only half the content is consumed as well
